On this International Day of Peace, as the global theme rightly urges us: “Act Now for a Peaceful World, ”it is our moral duty to take the action now to ensure peace reigns in our society because waiting is a luxury that many have already paid too high a price for. Let us commit to a politics of service, where leaders listen, where communities are empowered, and where reconciliation is more than rhetoric. I therefore pledge that under my leadership, the All Peoples Congress (APC) will work to ensure that every Sierra Leonean feels safe, heard, and valued; that the dreams of young people are not deferred by neglect; and that our nation becomes a place where peace is nurtured by justice, respect, and shared opportunity. The world cannot wait, and neither can we. Together, let us Heal, Unite, and Build.

As we mark the International Day of Peace alongside my birthday, I recommit myself, my campaign, and call on every Sierra Leonean to rededicate to healing divisions, strengthening unity, and building a nation rooted in tolerance, respect, and the courage to resolve conflict without violence. Peace is the foundation of progress, the lifeblood of democracy, and the greatest inheritance we can pass to future generations. As a scholar and practitioner of peace and conflict resolution, I know that true peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice, dialogue, and reconciliation. Without it, development falters and justice is denied. With it, children can learn, farmers can prosper, and citizens can hope.

This is why I have dedicated my life to building bridges where others see barriers, and finding solutions where conflict once thrived. Let peace be the compass that guides our actions. Let us protect it with unity, nurture it with justice, and renew it with love for our country.

Our nation deserves leaders who understand conflict, unite rather than divide, and transform peace into prosperity. Join me on this special day as I reaffirm my vision for a Sierra Leone where peace is firm, shared, and lasting. Together, we can stand as guardians of Sierra Leone’s peace, democracy, and destiny.

Happy International Day of Peace!
