Street Child Boosts 300 Pupils in Pujehun District

In a bid to bolster the educational sector and support vulnerable school pupils, Street Child of Sierra Leone has provided educational materials to over 300 pupils in Pujehun District.

Kadiatu Yeime Conteh, the Project Coordinator of Street Child of Sierra Leone in Pujehun District, emphasized that the support was part of their organization’s commitment to ensuring access to education for Sierra Leonean children. The initiative falls under the “Education For Every Child Today” project, aiming for increased school attendance and retention.

Conteh reiterated the organization’s dedication to ensuring the safety and learning of all Sierra Leonean children, urging educational stakeholders, parents, and beneficiaries to handle the donated items with care to ensure longevity. The donated items, which included bags, books, and school uniforms, primarily targeted primary school pupils.

Ibrahim Kabiru Sesay, the Gender Desk Officer of Pujehun District Council, speaking on behalf of the Council Chairman, commended Street Child of Sierra Leone for their unwavering support in various developmental aspects, particularly in education, instructional learning, psychosocial support, school construction, sustainability, and advocacy. He applauded the organization for addressing existing challenges faced by parents amidst economic difficulties.

Fatmata Sillah, a parent beneficiary representing all recipients, expressed gratitude to Street Child of Sierra Leone for their consistent support over the years.
