Fifty-eight year old Sulaiman Conteh made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a count of murder, contrary to section 1 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by Section 1 (a) of the schedule of the abolition of the Death Penalty Act 2002 Act No.6 of 2002.
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 14 July 2023 at No. 6A Savage Street, Wellington in the Western Area in Freetown murdered Isha Saidu Hughes.
The accused person was brought in court with of white morning gown when the Court Clerk was about to put the charge to the accused, both the prosecutors the Prison Officer that was present court shed tears in court.
The accused person was unrepresented by legal representative. The prosecutor informed the Bench that his witness is present.
Meanwhile no plea was taken and Magistrate Kekura denied bail and sent the accused to the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown matter adjourned to the 18 August 2023 for further hearing.
