Through his unwavering commitment to empowering the downtrodden, innovative vision, and authentic engagement, he has ignited a transformative movement that has inspired thousands of market participants and businesswomen to unite in support of a brighter economic future.
On Wednesday 12th February 2025, thousands of market women gathered at the Big Obasai Complex in the central part of Freetown to welcome Jagaban, who was officially crowned as the Chief of Petty Traders in the country. Such a recognition is a testament to his tireless efforts in supporting the vulnerable and promoting entrepreneurship.
His leadership has inspired a new wave of economic empowerment; and his people-oriented approach has earned him a place in the hearts of the common man.
In addition to his role as the Chief of Petty Traders, Sheik Mohamed Kamara has been instrumental in providing support to those in need. His philanthropic work extends to fire victims in Kaningo Community, where he provided much-needed assistance to alleviate their suffering.
His kindness and generosity know no bounds, and his selflessness has earned him a reputation as a champion of the underprivileged.
The people of Rokel Community warmly welcomed Alhaji Mohamed Kamara and his executive team, as they made their way from Hastings-Toll Gate to Masjid Al-Qayyum Central Mosque on Sillah Drive (Kondoloh Community). It was a truly remarkable sight to behold, as people of all ages rejoiced at the opportunity to meet this great and inspiring leader.
During his Keynote address, Sheik Mohamed Kamara acknowledged the tremendous work of the Masjid Al-Qayyum Muslim Jama’at, and expressed gratitude for their warm reception.
In recognition of his support, he was officially made an executive member of their Muslim Jama’at, receiving membership number 001.
In response to their humble request, Jagaban made several meaningful donations to the Jama’at and the Rokel community, including: –
60 bags of rice for the Jama’at in preparation for Ramadan
100 million Leones (NLE 100 million) as his contribution to the Jama’at’s fundraising efforts
Commitment to support road construction projects and initiate the installation of solar streetlights throughout the community
Pledge to donate borehole machines to provide an adequate water supply for the community
An additional NLE 40 million to the event organizers for coordinating a successful gathering
The donations and commitments are a testament to Sheik Mohamed Kamara’s unwavering commitment to supporting those in need. In another significant development, Sheik Mohamed Kamara visited the central part of Freetown, Abacha Street, on Saturday 15th January 2025, where he met with the ABACHA Street Traders at OLD-BATTA compound to discuss critical issues, concerns, and challenges faced by traders in their everyday business ventures. The traders expressed their warmest thanks and appreciation for his honour, highlighting the numerous constraints and challenges they face, and called on him to look into their concerns and help address their problems.
In his address, Sheik Mohamed Kamara thanked and showed gratitude to the Abacha Street traders for such a timely engagement.
He emphasized the importance of citizen participation in the upcoming 2025 National population census, which serves as a vital means of showcasing citizens’ rights.
