Sergeant 10275 Buya Abu Kamara attached to the Exhibit Office Ross Road Police Station has produced and tendered seven bags of Chinese rice as exhibits in respect of the Gold Seal company theft matter.
The accused on the above matter, Amadu Koroma and Alimamy Kamara are before the court after police investigation for redress on allegations of conspiracy to commit felony and larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
First accused Amadu Koroma was taken to court for stealing from Gold Seal company thirty-six bags of rice and ten thousand empty bags, whiles second accused Alimamy Kamara was dragged for allegedly receiving the empty bags and put them on sales.
Taking the oath and led in his examination in chief by Assistant Superintendent of Police Osman Mohamed Bangura, the Exhibit Clerk said he is responsible to receive, registered and keep exhibits presented to him in respect of cases and tender same when needed in court.
He said on the 18th March 2023, he was on duty at the exhibit office at Ross Road Police Station when Detective Police Constable 22243 Kargbo attached to the Criminal Investigation Department Ross Road Police Station handed over to him seven China made empty rice bag as exhibits in respect of this matter.
The Exhibit Clerk said he received them and registered them in the court register book against serial number 40/2023 and since then they have been in his custody.
The Exhibit Clerk produced and tendered the bags and they were marked by the court Clerk as Exhibits G. one to seven.
Cross examined by defence counsel A.S. Sesay, the Exhibit Clerk confirmed the bags as the only documents he received from his colleague.
At the conclusion of cross examination Magistrate Kekura ordered the accused persons to be taken back to the Male Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter to Tuesday 20th of June 2023 for hearings to continue.
