In what was a thrilling top-of-the-table clash, East End Lions edged past second-placed Bhantal FC, thanks to a brilliant header from their talisman, Musa Noah Kamara, who continues to prove why he’s one of the most feared forwards in Sierra Leone’s domestic football scene.
Played over the weekend, the highly anticipated fixture in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League saw Kamara step up once again when it mattered most. In the first half, the striker latched onto a pinpoint cross and directed a powerful header past the Bhantal FC goalkeeper from a tight angle, sending the home fans into raptures. That lone goal turned out to be all East End Lions needed to secure a crucial three points in their quest for the league title.
Kamara’s impact in this campaign cannot be overstated. After a scintillating performance against Kamboi Eagles—where he was involved in all three goals—it was no surprise that the in-form forward delivered again when the pressure was on. His consistency in front of goal has become a cornerstone of East End Lions’ title challenge.
The win against Bhantal FC sees East End Lions sitting comfortably at the summit of the table with 35 points from 16 matches. Their record speaks volumes: 10 wins, five draws, and just a single loss—a testament to the team’s resilience and tactical discipline. Bhantal FC, who had hoped to leapfrog the Lions with a victory, remain second with 30 points, while defending champions Bo Rangers trail behind in third with 27 points from the same number of games.
Fans of the Lions have every reason to believe that this could be their season. Under the current management, the team has blended youthful energy with seasoned experience, and in Musa Noah Kamara, they have a player whose hunger for goals is matched only by his desire to win silverware.
Speaking after the match, head coach of East End Lions praised Kamara’s work ethic and leadership on the pitch. “Musa is more than just a striker for us—he’s a leader, a motivator, and a consistent performer. His ability to deliver in high-pressure situations is exactly what sets him apart,” he said.
The match itself was fiercely contested, with Bhantal FC pushing hard in the second half to find an equalizer. However, the Lions’ defense held firm, repelling wave after wave of attacks. Goalkeeper Mohamed Sesay made several crucial saves to preserve the narrow lead and ensure the team walked away with all three points.
As the Leone Rock Premier League enters its crucial second half, the battle for the title is heating up. With just 10 matches to go, East End Lions will be looking to maintain their momentum; and as long as Musa Noah Kamara stays fit and firing, few would bet against them.
For now, the Lions can enjoy their position at the top of the table—but with Bhantal and Bo Rangers breathing down their necks, there is little room for complacency.
One thing is clear: Kamara’s form could be the difference between a strong finish and a championship triumph.
