UBA Sierra Leone Holds Induction and Orientation for New Hires

UBA Sierra Leone on Saturday 1st November,2025 held its induction and orientation session for new hires recruited from January 2025 to date, including the recently concluded Graduate Management Acceleration Programme (GMAP) graduates, at the bank’s Head Office Conference Room, Charlotte Street.

Welcoming the new employees, the Managing Director/CEO, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura emphasized the importance of having the right people to drive the bank’s vision.

“We don’t just need people, we need the right people to help us achieve our overall objectives. We are also internal customers of the bank, because when we get it right inside, we can satisfy customers outside,” MD/CEO said. “It’s never done until the customer says “thank you”.”

The Chief Operating Officer(COO) Ngede Chiedu, congratulated the new hires and urged them to maintain professionalism, integrity, and teamwork, noting that every staff member represents UBA at all times.

Millicent Yormah, Country Head, Human Capital Management, took participants through the bank’s general code of conduct and dressing ethics, advising them to always project the right image of the bank.

Speaking at the event, Sallieu Sesay, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, presented on “Living the Brand.” He highlighted the dos and don’ts of communication within and outside the bank and encouraged staff to take ownership of the UBA brand as true ambassadors.

Key departments including the Country Chief Inspectorate, Treasury, Financial Control, Credit and Risk, Internal Control and many other departments also made presentations, giving the new hires insights into their operations and roles in achieving the bank’s objectives.

In a vote of thanks, Mohamed Koroma one of the new hired appreciated management and facilitators for the impactful session and reaffirmed the commitment of the new hires to contribute to UBA Sierra Leone’s continued success.

At the close of the session, the Human Capital Management (HCM) and Marketing and Corporate Communications (MCC) departments presented welcome packages of branded UBA items to all participants.
