UBA Sierra Leone partnered with the European Union and Ballanta Academy of Music and Performing Arts on the GBV Singing Competition Awards Gala, held at the Freetown City Council Auditorium, as part of efforts to empower young people and use music as a tool for advocacy against gender based violence.
The event featured musical performances from eight talented finalists, showcasing how creativity can drive awareness, inspire change, and promote the rights of women and girls, an initiative that aligns with the bank’s commitment to youth empowerment and positive social impact.
The winners of the competition were, Lyrical Three – 1st Place, Alie Baminhoma – 2nd Place and Osman Tao – 3rd Place
The night was further enriched by a famous professional European saxophonist Cezariusz Gadzina, alongside the Ballanta Academy of Music & Performing Arts’ Groovy Colours.
