In a largely attended inaugural ceremony of elected Mayor, Chairpersons and councillors of the respective councils in the North-West Region comprising Port Loko, Kambia and Karene on Friday 27th October, 2023, the honourable Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh called on elected councillors including APC, SLPP and NGC to work together to move the development aspirations of their people.
The VP made this statement in Port Loko at the ceremony marking the return of the APC to elective state institutions. As chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Decentralization and Local Governance, the VP reiterated the commitment of government to support the work of councils and municipalities while at the same time work towards addressing their delivery challenges. The VP will spend the night in Bombali District to officiate in the inaugural ceremony of local councils in the North on Saturday morning.
