Victoria Cole, a daughter of Red Pump based in the United States has Saturday 1 April 2023, demonstrated willingness to give back to her community.
In an exclusive phone interview with this writer called Sierra Leoneans including those of the Red Pump community and elsewhere in the country and abroad to come onboard to push the community forward.
She observed that for any development to go forward, there should be peace and love amongst everybody so that they can be able to move their respective communities and the country as a whole forward.
The Project Coordinator for Red Pump Community Cleaning Initiative, Sahr Ibrahim Fonja thanked Madam Cole for her support to the community and prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to provide for her to enable her to support more community driven projects.
Red Pump Youth Chairman, John Pio Sesay also thanked Madam Cole for her benevolent support. Amongst other things, he observed that the community lacks a lot of things, and cited the absence of healthcare facility, sparse water, food and good road network that are very challenging to the progress and development of Red Pump.
He added that he was the one that brought road reconstruction projects to his community, with support from Mohamed Gento Kamara. He called on stakeholders to come onboard to complete the road works.
On her part, Red Pump Chairlady Fatmata Sesay who organized the cleaning exercise, thanked Madam Cole and those who contributed to making sure that projects become reality. She maintained however that her community is suffering from malaria and thus called on the authorities to come to their aid with the needful medical facilities. She said such cleaning activities must continue a weekly basis to motivate youths.
Madam Titty Davies, one of the stakeholders in the community, called on every Sierra Leonean to come onboard to brace the opportunity that Madam Cole is supporting. She also called for peace and love between and amongst citizens to prevail to move the community forward.
Mohamed Nameni Sesay who is a social worker for the cleaning exercise also called all Sierra Leoneans to put ego aside and come together as one family to move their respective communities and the country forward.
“This cleaning exercise is the first phase,” said Mr. Sesay, adding that there are lots of other projects Madam Cole is championing towards her community’s development.
He thanked Madam Cole for the support and prayed that God continues to provide and protect her.
