The Vice President-1 of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Harold Nat-Johnson has called on the country’s U-20 side Shooting Stars to “remain calm, self-disciplined and focused” ahead of their second Group A match against the host nation Mauritania in the ongoing WAFU U-20 Tournament in Nouakchott.
He made this plea during a technical meeting held immediately after the team’s match situation training today at the Stade Olympic in Nouakchott in preparation for tomorrow’s crucial clash.
The Vice President 1, who led the delegation to Mauritania, confidently stated: “All is not lost and we have the potential to bounce back and win our next match to bring alive our hopes of qualifying to the next stage of the tournament. This is not impossible and with the right mentality and approach towards our subsequent matches, we are sure to achieve it.”
He lamented further: “It is time to fight back and prove our critics wrong as the past results should only serve as a motivational drive in getting the required results for the nation.”
In his statement during the said gathering, the Team Manager Foday Anthony assured the lads of his continued support, urging them to put up their utmost best in tomorrow’s match to bring back the much needed pride to Sierra Leoneans both home and abroad.
Sierra Leone will lock horns with the host country Mauritania tomorrow Saturday at the Stade Cheika Ould Boidiya at 5:30 PM which will mark the second match for both sides so far in the tournament.
