Cross carpeted Engineer turned politician, Mohammed Gento Kamara’s name has been mentioned in an interview conducted FORUMJ as one of those counted out and never mentioned in the alleged murder matter brought against Abu Bakarr Daramy, former Young General Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC) party and the former Mayor of the Freetown Municipality, Herbert George Williams.
According to Daramy, they were selected amongst other people including Mohamed Gento Kamara who were at the scene where late Ibrahim Samura was allegedly beaten. “Even Gento was around like us but because of his support for the SLPP his name was not brought up in the case they won after suffering months in prison”, Daramy stated, adding that selective justice will be an issue of the past when his party retakes power in June 2023.
Abu Bakarr Daramy is vying for the position of Deputy Chairman for the Western Region. He said he is the best man for that position considering his zeal to secure votes for the APC at the 2023 elections in the Western Area. He pointed out that the victory of the party at Constituency 110 is a demonstration of his energy to secure the victory the party needs to maintain in the West. “In fact, the role I played towards our victory in those elections led to my incarceration”, Daramy revealed.
He stressed on the need for the party to have a person of his calibre who is not afraid of the ruling party or any kind of intimidation or selective justice. He said the APC has to maintain its hold on its strongholds not allowing the SLPP to steal them from the party at the forthcoming elections.
He called on APC supporters to continue with support for the party for it to go to State House and start changing the game for the ordinary man in Sierra Leone. He promised to serve as an umbrella for unity within the West. All efforts at reaching Kamara for his side of the story proved futile.
