WABBA Gets New Executive

Western Area Basketball Association (WABBA) has ended their election in the presence of representatives from all basketball clubs in the Western Area and there were delegates from the National Sports Authority (NSA) that witnessed WABBA’s election.

The election took place on 9th September, 2023 and led to a new WABBA executive.

The Western Area Basketball Association -WABBA is an implementing body for all basketball activities in the Western Area under the Sierra Leone National Basketball Federation (SLNBF).

The electioneering process which was conducted through nomination of candidates for each position at WABBA such as Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary General and Deputy, Financial Secretary, Organising Secretary and Deputy and the Public Relations Officer, from 13 registered teams, to voting of nominated candidates.

Ahmed Tejan Dahniyya was elected as the new Chairman of WABBA; Eugene Howard was elected as Vice Chairman, Sheku Tejan Kamara is the Secretary General Elect, Dauda Kamara is Asst. Sec Gen, Riski James -Organising Secretary elect, Ernest Johnson Treasure/Financial Secretary elect, Evelyn Macfoy -Asst. Org. Secretary elect and Chief Joseph Ans-Luseni II is the PRO elect. 

The Executive elect comprises of highly talented and professional basketball players who have played professional basketball in their entire career and are poised to tackle the numerous challenges that basketball faces in Sierra Leone.
