WAFA disassociates itself from COFA banning of Kroo Tong Road Community

Following the protest won by Soja Tong Community FC against Kroo Tong Road Community FC for the use of Abu Bakarr Turay who was ineligible to play in any WAFA competition or WAFA afflicted competition.

In a public notice dated the 11 September 2024, the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) disassociated itself from the COFA Emergency Disciplinary Committee.

According to WAFA, the decision to rob Kroo Tong Community FC is unethical decision to rob them a Quarterfinal spot.

 

The release noted certain points that;

“1.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  COFA’s claim that the decision was motivated by WAFA was untrue

  1. The decision was made without prior consultation with WAFA
  2. No official correspondence about the decision was made to WAFA,” it stated.

It also noted that the following resolution must be into effect;

  1. a) “The match between Soja Tong Community FC and Aberdeen must be put on hold with immediate effect
  2. b) The parties involved (Kroo Town Road, Soja Tong Community FC and COFA) are summoned to an emergency meeting on Thursday 12th September 2024 at SLFA Academy, at 8:00 AM

A settlement is expected to put the said issue to order, by doing what is right and all irregularities corrected, as football demands fair play, respect and ethics to save the reputation of the beautiful game we all love.,” It said.
