Western Area Rural District of Sierra Leone Waterloo is increasingly becoming the hub of witchcraft practices by some individuals who live in and around rural communities there.
Recently social media post some ugly incident that took place at the Waterloo wherein a forty-six (46) years old fisherman, Alie Bangura of Tombo and Fogbo, who identified himself as the headman and confessed that he is the one that stabbed and killed one Mohamed at Morabi, Waterloo in the Western Rural District.
In other raid conducted by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) personnel arrested John Conteh Alies Sharia Law, also known as a witch doctor of Five Mile beyond Waterloo.
According to police information, the house of the witch doctor was searched and discovered human skull, human born, locally made shotgun, a pistol, bullets, wrapped cowries (jaygay), a well preserved baboon teeth, carefully grained human bones kept in a plastic cup. Also found in the shrine of Sharia Law was a bundle of human dread locks. A wooden box containing several snakes was discovered in witch doctor Sharia Law’s shrine.
In a related incident at Waterloo, Pastor Peter Aiah Mondeh of Christ the King Church, 3 Mile, Waterloo was handed over Alpha Kamara, thirty-three (33) years old witch- doctor who confessed to the police.
According to info the said witch doctor went to give his life to Jesus Christ, saying that he was tired of witch crafting.
It could be recalled that one month ago, a lecturer at Geology Department Fourah Bay College University of Siera Leone was also killed and buried in the shrine of a witch doctor in Waterloo. The matter is under investigations by the Sierra Leone Police.
