Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, who chaired the “Inter-Agency Forum Meeting on Social Protection” held at the District Council held in Kenema city 9th – 10th August 2024, disclosed that the forum is platform to discuss important issues bearing on social protection such as cordination opportunities in order to maximize impact, devoid of duplicity of resources.
Linking the Government’s “Big Five Game Changers” to social protection programs, the Hon. Vice President said the focus is to support the transition from consumption to livelihood.
According to the VP, Social Protection is a pro-poor instrument but transitioning people out of vulnerabilities requires far more than cash handouts. We must continue to coordinate efforts to enhance livelihood opportunities for the vulnerable.
