In continuation of its efforts to bolster the capacity and operations of their national partners, Welthungerhilfe has on Thursday 5th June, 2025 donated a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle to Land-for-life Initiative SierraLeone-an implementing partner of WHH.
The vehicle is to enhance the implementation of the “Making Policies Work For Food Security”, a project funded by BMZ.
In a short statement, WHH Sierra Leone Country Director- Emmanuel Octave Bananeza stated that the vehicle is meant to support the effective implementation of the project and appealed to the beneficiary to use it in good way.
Responding after receiving the keys and documentation of the vehicle, the National Coordinator for Land-For-Life Initiative, Berns Komba Lebbi, expressed profound appreciations to WHH for the kind gesture, stating that “This would enhance our work in policy advocacy across our operational districts and the country”. We assure you of taking good care of and conduct ourselves in line with the respect associated with the credible brands displayed on this vehicle,” Berns Lebbie assured.
The third phase of this project is being implemented in Kenema, Port Loko, Pujehun and Tonkolili Districts in Sierra Leone including Freetown, the Capital.
However, Land-for-Life is currently half-way in the third phase of its Multi-actor Partnership project, titled ‘Policy for Food Security’.
As they often refer to it as an a land governance initiative, rather than a project, Land-fo- Life phase III Policy for Food Security is being implemented in Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The overall objective and impact of this land governance initiative is to improving food security through secure land rights in rural communities in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
It aims is to Strengthening inclusive, responsible and effective land policy and governance through sustainable multi-stakeholder processes.
