Dear All,
Why was Ibrahim Sawaray fired?
Ibrahim Swaray is diligent and hardworking. He has proven this in various jobs and responsibilities entrusted to him. He is incorruptible, even during his tenure as Head of Procurement.
President Bio recognized his accomplishments and appointed him to manage the National Revenue institution, based on the gains he was making.
Under his leadership, positive changes were implemented, resulting in increased revenue collection and closing loopholes in the sector. Records show that he collected billions of Leone in a single day.
Furthermore, Swaray has been supportive of the youth and has contributed to their endeavors.
However, his downfall came as a result of his disrespectful behavior towards his colleagues. Sawaray became pompous and showed no respect for many people in the SLPP administration. He even recklessly insulted the Vice President on one occasion.
In a meeting, he put his feet on top of a table, boasting that they brought the SLPP to power and that his colleagues were mere beneficiaries of the administration.
The main issue is that he became increasingly arrogant and unethical towards many people.
There was even a time when he had a problem with his brother from Kenema district regarding procurement issues, and once again, Swaray was in the wrong.
After evaluating the situation, President Bio took the decision to fire him.
Sometimes, when people have too much money and access to opportunities, they can become fragile and lose their integrity.
We should never allow opportunities to overshadow our pride and respect for others.
Sincerely,
David Karaoke Kargbo
