A first year student of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), Fatmata Namisa Kamara has been reportedly found dead with broken arms, neck and ribs in a compound at Wucan Close, back off Winners Chapel Church, Model New Road in Freetown. The mother of the deceased Ms. Kargbo, said her daughter was found dead in the compound of one Mrs. Patricia Brown, who had earlier sought her consent to allow Fatmata Namisa Kamara to sleep at her residence until her daughter Sonia Baubani Brown returned from her short overseas trip. Ms. Kargbo explained that Namisa slept at Mrs. Brown’s residence until her daughter returned from abroad. She added that her daughter was still sleeping at the said residence even when Sonia Baubani Brown had returned from her short oversea trip.
She furthered that Fatmata Namisa Kamara got missing for some days before her dead corpse was found half buried in the extreme end of the compound of Mrs. Patricia Baubani Brown. The mother explained that her daughter was brutally tortured to death as her ribs, arms and neck were broken and the front part of her head half shaved.
However, the mother has registered her disappointment about the manner in which the Sierra Leone Police are handling the investigations into the matter, as np no suspect has been arrested while investigation continues. She lamented that those who murdered her daughter are having a field day while she continues to wallow in pain and tears.
Ms. Kargbo is seeking justice for the death of her daughter through the Sierra Leone Judiciary. She implored authorities concerned to make swift interventions as she want the law to take it due course and bring to book those responsible for the death of her 21yrs old daughter.
A vigilante youth residing at Wucan close who pleaded for anonymity also registered his dissatisfaction with the manner in which the police have dealt with the matter, which he described as very appalling. He said no arrest has been made by the police while stating that they are planning to do a serious peaceful demonstration if only the police fail to do the needful investigation and arrest those involved in the death of the innocent lady. He called on the police to prohibit all those living in the scene of crime to stop dwelling in the said compound and pass a red tape to indicate danger.
He said they as youth living in that community are very unhappy about the death of Fatmata Namisa Kamara whom he described as very diligent, well-mannered and has respect for elders. He noted that justice delayed is justice denied and therefore called for a speedy investigation into the matter by the police.
