KAMBIA, Sierra Leone – October 22, 2025: A 30-year-old woman has been sentenced to 36 months in prison by Magistrate Joseph Toby of the Kambia District Magistrate’s Court after being found guilty of possessing harmful substances.

The convict, identified as Mary Conteh of Elizabeth Street, Bassa Town, Waterloo, was arrested on Monday, October 13, 2025, by officers from the Operations Team of the Kambia Police Division. She was apprehended at the Kambia District Central Lorry Park in possession of seven wrapped parcels containing the illegal substances.

The ruling was handed down on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement and the judiciary to clamp down on the possession and distribution of harmful substances in the country.

He is widely recognized across Kambia District as a “Peace Ambassador” due to his consistent delivery of impartial and peace-promoting judgments.
