Most Sierra Leoneans believe Justice Adrian Fisher’s integrity is at risk to be tarnished if he fails to do the right thing. Citizens demand the Not Guilty verdict from Judge Fisher. Consequently, some personalities in the Krio Community have not minced their words. They recently admonished their own Justice Adrian Fisher to pass the verdict on Samura Kamara’s case now because the people of Sierra Leoneans are impatiently waiting for it and the international community as well are watching keenly. The worried Krios told Judge Fisher to protect his integrity by stopping delaying the overdue verdict. “Do not allow any political influence to impede your judicial judgement in this case and the earlier you do the right thing, the better for your integrity and your family,” reiterated the Krios who advised Judge Adrian Fisher to act without delay. Insider sources have confided to the Organiser newspaper that the Krios are really worried that their compatriot is scared of what is happening and they believe Justice Fisher is contemplating washing his hands off the case by handing over the matter to the SLPP government Chief Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards. Ironically, Chief Justice Babatunde Edwards, a man who has seriously dented his reputation, is another Krio descendant who has been contracted by President Bio to do the dirty judicial job in order to humiliate and strangle top officials of the main opposition APC party. Competent sources have intimated that the Krios have also warned Judge Fisher not to hand over the case at this critical juncture but rather he should be brave enough to continue and pass the correct verdict immediately.

As we go to press, it is not clear what Justice Fisher would do after the secret advice but inside sources say Adrian Fisher has made up his mind to carry on. It remains to be seen how long it will take for Justice Fisher to give his verdict in this long-drawn politically motivated matter against the APC Party leader Dr Samura Kamara – and the People’s Choice for President – which citizens believe is the most unjust case in Sierra Leone so far. Under pressure, Judge Fisher is yet to pass his verdict on the Dr Samura Kamara matter despite having been adjudicated for over one year now. The delay is invariably caused by the long hands of the corrupt President Bio and his disgraceful judiciary headed by the corrupt Chief Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards. (Photo: Dr Samura Kamara is the man of the people).

This case that was supposed to conclude within three months has been dragging on primarily for political purposes rather than for judicial purposes. President Bio pulling the deceptive strings behind the scene has prolonged the Dr Samura Kamara matter because the failed SLPP regime is scared of the APC party strongman Dr Samura Kamara and does not want him to contest the June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections. Dr Samura Kamara, the People’s Choice is the clear favourite to lead the main opposition APC party to democratically capture the State House in June this year. As President Bio is so worried that Sierra Leoneans are determined to kick his government out of power, the failed ruling SLPP administration sees Dr Samura Kamara as a serious threat to the survival of the current government.

From the outset, the Bio presidency had contracted the corrupt judiciary through Chief Justice Babatunde Edwards and through Justice Adrian Fisher to play the dirty game. And correctly so, Judge Fisher has done and continues to do a good job so far by snail-pacing his verdict on the Dr Samura Kamara case. It all started when the report of the misappropriation of over four million United States dollars donated by the Chinese government for the renovation of the Sierra Leone Chancery Building in New York was made public. Many political individuals were accused of missing millions and mistakenly, Dr Samura Kamara’s untainted name was dragged into the mud deliberately to smear his good reputation.

President Bio saw a perfect opportunity to damage Dr Samura Kamara’s image and being his greatest threat to retain power, President Bio ordered his corrupt Anti-Corruption Commissioner ACC Mr Francis Ben Kaifala to charge Dr Samura Kamara. But after the appearance of eighteen witnesses, Justice Fisher’s High Court did not have a single witness to name Dr Samura Kamara as guilty or even as an accomplice. Sierra Leoneans have long concluded that President Bio, scared of free and fair elections, is targeting Dr Samura Kamara unjustly. Citizens started questioning why the Bio regime has failed to arrest the real criminals namely the former SLPP Foreign Ministers Mr Alie Kabba, Mrs Nabeela Tunis, and the current one Dr David Francis who actually stole the Chinese donation. (Photo: ACC boss Ben Kaifala, left, and Alie Kabba, right, and Samura Kamara, centre).

This is because, within the time period, the four million dollars went missing i.e. between 2019 onwards, Dr Samura Kamara was not in governance let alone being the Foreign Minister. Yet, the Bio presidency continues to display deliberate delays in the Samura Kamara case. Citizens have called on the corrupt SLPP government of President Bio, specifically Judge Fisher to free the Peoples’ Choice just a few months before the crucial general and presidential elections. But the under-pressure Judge Fisher is not exhibiting signs of bravery enough to pass the correct verdict much to the chagrin of most citizens including the international community. Observers say Justice Fisher wants to satisfy his paymaster President Bio rather than adjudicate real justice in conformity with the Sierra Leone Constitution and the Rule of Law. “We are worried because the government is misusing our people to do the dirty judicial games,” the Krios noted.

This undue pressure has now infiltrated the Krio Community and it is not a surprise that they too are talking to their compatriot Justice Fisher to wake up from his slumber. The latest report says Adrian Fisher is taking stock of the advice given to him by his own people from the Krio Community to do the right thing regarding the Dr Samura Kamara case in order to protect his integrity. Reliable sources say Adrian Fisher is so scared to pass the verdict now for fear of the SLPP government’s vengeance. Unrelenting, the Krio Community has strongly advised their own son to use his conscience and free an innocent man in Dr Samura Kamara. It remains to be seen if Fisher would be brave enough to do the right thing as most Sierra Leoneans hope their popular choice for President receives justice now.
