Ahmed Daramy and Alhaji Sorie Jalloh first accused and Alhaji Sorie Jalloh second accused on Monday 11 March 2024, made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road court No.1
The accused person were standing trial on three count charges to wit wounding with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 479 the offense against the person act 1861.
According to court files it was alleged that the accused on Monday 19th February 2024 at Kissy Road in Freetown, wounded Henry Dumbiya with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.Police also alleged that on the above said date and place in Freetown the accused person did maliciously wounded the victim Henry Dumbiya.
Police also alleged that the second accused Alhaji Sorie Jalloh name was also mentioned on the above date and place in Freetown did Assaulted Henry Dumbuya in a manner thereby occasioning actual bodily harm.
No witness was lead in court so the prosecutor sought for a short date for him to bring a witness.
Meanwhile, the defence counsel S. Conteh made an application for bail on behalf of his client the first accused saying “he has a fixed abode and he is a student, and he will not jump bail, and he has credible sureties to look into is case, and he is not a flight risk” and he canvassed the Magistrate to admit his client on bail
But the first accused was remanded to the Male correction centre at Pademba Road, while the second accused given a bail condition. Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to March 19th 2024 for further hearings.
