At the Institute of International Bankers (IIB) 2025 Annual Washington Conference, Sola Yomi-Ajayi, Executive Director Treasury and International Banking, joined global banking leaders to discuss the role of foreign banks in the U.S. and their impact on global finance.

She highlighted UBA’s position as the only sub-Saharan African bank with a federal banking license in the U.S., offering payment services, trade finance solutions, loan services through primary origination and risk participation in syndicated transactions, treasury and foreign exchange solutions to African banks, global corporates and development organisations.

She highlighted key opportunities in Africa-U.S. trade, AI-driven financial services, and digital payments while also addressing challenges such as regulatory complexities and access to capital for African businesses.
