East End Lions has secured their Quarter final spot in the ongoing SLFA F.A Cup Tournament in the country. The Killers secured their spot after defeating Bullom Stars by 3-1 at the Trade Centre Field in Freetown, on Wednesday 21 of February 2024. East End Lions defeated a tough side that eliminated Kamboi Eagles in the round of 32 in Kenema.
Bullom Stars is a First Division team from Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom North-West Region and they are one of the best teams in their Region.
Before the match there were a lot of momentum between the two teams, and they really showcase their different prowess at the First half of play that ended 1-1 at the Trade Center. Bullom stars took an early lead in the 8th minutes of play a goal scored by Saidu Mansaray, which led to East End Lions to come up strongly and got their equalizer in the 33 minutes of play a goal scored by one of their new signings Isaac Opoku Agyemang.
In the second half of play, the Killers came strong with a lot of chances created and the finally got their second goal of the match in the 58 minutes of play a goal scored by Santi H. Kargbo. The home side double their lead in the 88 minutes of played and it was Isaac Opoku Agyemang that sealed the victory for the Killers.
All is set for the Quarter Final matches and everyone is enthusiastic to witness the various clashes in the FA cup Quarter Final stages.On the other hand, the Chairman of East End Lions, Chairman Anthony Navo, Jr., after they have attended a spot to the quarter Final at the Trade Centre Field, visited the trade centre field yesterday and the purpose of the visit was to prepare for the construction of an artificial turf, with work scheduled to start 22nd February 2024. The project is expected to be completed within two weeks or so.
This important development signifies the club’s commitment to improving the facilities and enhancing the playing experience for both players and spectators.
The visit to the trade centre field marked the initial steps towards the realization of this project. With the chairman’s leadership and the assistance of the contractors, the construction work on the artificial turf is set to start immediately. Over the next two weeks, our supporters can look forward to a transformed and upgraded Trade Centre playing field.
