Ibrahim Sillah, a teacher, Mohamed Sheriff Nallo and Bobson Massaquoi were on Tuesday 6th June 2023 again arraigned before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Pademba Road court No1 for allegedly forging of Njala University Degree certificate in their names.
The accused persons were charged with three counts of Conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law, Forgery contrary to Section 2(1(a) of the Forgery Act 1913 and Uttering Forged Document contrary to Section 6(1(2) of the Forgery Act 1913.
According to count one, it was alleged that the accused persons sometimes between 2021 and 2023, at BP town southern province with intent to defraud conspired together with other person’s unknown to forged one Njala University Degree certificate in the name of Mohamed Alpha Sheriff, one Njala University Higher Teachers’ Certification in the name of Mohamed Nallo and one Njala University Higher Teachers’ Certification in the name of Bobson Massaquoi.
Police further alleged on count two that the accused persons on a date unknown between 1st March 2023 and 2nd April 2023 at Bo town with intent to defraud forge certain documents to wit one Njala University Higher Teachers’ Certification in their names purported to have been signed by the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Njala University, knowing same to be false.
Whiles count three added that the accused persons on sane date with intent to defraud uttered forge Njala University Degree certificate in their names knowing same to be false.
When the charges were read and explain to them, no plea was taken.
Magistrate Ngegba however adjourned the matter to 30th June 2023 for further hearing.
The accused persons are on bail but didn’t meet the bail condition and are remanded in prison.
