Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas has Tuesday July 25, 2023, issued a stern warning to presidential appointees who were before parliament for approval.

Speaking in the well of Parliament, the Deputy Speaker of the House admonished all nominees to go to their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies and perform to the best of their abilities thereby meeting the expectations of the president and the public.

He called on them to ensure that staff of their respective MDAs are gingered up to make differences during their tenures.

Many staff in most MDAs are mostly not engaged in any administrative dealings in the day to day running of their agencies. He therefore entreated them to pay greater attention to such staff.

“They are not there to play games with their phones as President Julius Maada Bio is yearning to see better things for the nation during his second term,” Hon. Thomas disclosed.

He therefore encouraged all and sundry to employ greater seriousness in their various responsibilities as failure to perform is not an excuse.

“Sierra Leone is a very small country, if we all play our roles diligently the country will enjoy better standard of living,” he added.

The Deputy Speaker furthered that the country’s development roadmap has already been laid by the president, therefore, it behoves heads of MDAs to make reasonable progress and engage in effective monitoring.
