The Leadership of the Inter-Religious Council of Sierra Leone (IRCSL), met with the All People’s Congress (APC) National Executive on Monday 14 August 2023 at the APC Headquarters 11A Old Railway Line, Brookfield Freetown.
The IRCSL Delegation, headed by its vice president, Alhaji Murtada Sesay paid what they referred to as a fact-finding visit to the headquarters of the APC today, 14 August 2023.
According to Reverend Jesse Forna, the National Secretary General of the Council, their team was at the APC party office to hear first-hand concerns of the APC party on the June 24, 2023 elections, which, they believe can better guide them as they work towards finding ways of solving the current political impasse in the country.
Reverend Forna also informed the leadership of APC that their organisation has met with other institutions such as the Office of National Security (ONS) and the Elections Commission Sierra Leone (ECSL) and that it was important for them to hear from the APC.
Today’s meeting, according to him is part of a wider consultation they are having with stakeholders across the country and not a negotiation on the current position of the party, relating to the non-participation in governance.
The party’s National Executive Headed by The National Chairman Alhajie Minkalu Mansaray and Deputy National Chairman Amb Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh eventhough welcomed the IRCSL delegation, yet has maintained it position on the current impasse.
