Junisa Squire, a Sales Manager at Winsome General Supplies and Construction Enterprise and two others were last Friday 18 August 2023 sent to the Male Correctional Centre by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of the Pademba Road Court No3 for allegedly stealing over one hundred (100) pieces of timber and other assorted items to the tune of Two Hundred and Seventy-Three Thousand One Hundred New Leones (NLe273,100).
The accused persons Junisa Squire, Mohamed Sama and Foday Pessima made their first appearance in court and were arraigned on two count charges of conspiracy contrary to law and larceny by servant contrary to section 29)1a) of the larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on count one the accused persons on Wednesday 2 August 2023, at Winsome General Supplies and Construction Enterprise, Mile13 Peninsula Road Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny by servant.
The police further alleged on count two that the accused persons on the same date and place being a servant employed by the said company stole one hundred and seven (107) pieces of timber and other assorted items all to the total valued of NLe 273,100, property of Winsome General Supplies and Construction Enterprise.
When the charges were read and explain to the accused persons, no plea was taken and no legal representation was made on their behalf.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sorie Conteh informed the Bench that though his witness bit however requested for an adjournment to have conference with him.
Magistrate Bangura remanded the accused persons to the Male Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter to the 23 August 2023 for further hearing.
