FC Kallon has made it to the CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary next rounds without playing a single match.
FC Kallon qualified to the next stage after their opponent As Douances from Niger withdrawn from the CAF Confederation Preliminary round due to the current political crisis in their country.
According to the notice from Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), FC Kallon has automatically qualified to the next rounds stage of 2023-2024 CAF Confederation competition. It continued to congratulate the management and staff of FC Kallon for making it to the next rounds of the competition.
‘Accordingly, CAF noted in its email that your club (KALLON FC) has automatically qualified to the next rounds stage of 2023-24 CAF CC Competition. In view of the above, I write to communicate this latest action from CAF and at the same time congratulate you and the entire management staff on behalf of the SLFA,’ the notice stated.
Initially, the AS Douances supposed to play their home match in Sierra Leone due to their political tension in Niger. But, the team from Niger AS Douances has deems it necessary to withdraw from the competition because of the political tension in Niger.
FC Kallon and AS Douances first leg was scheduled to take place on 27 August 2023, at the South Arena stadium in Bo.
FC Kallon will play the winner between Dreams FC and Milo FC. They are now waiting for the winner between DREAMS FC from Ghana and MILO FC from Guinea.
