The Women’s Forum-Sierra Leone (WF-SL) strongly believes in peace campaign before, during and after elections.
Therefore, with support from the UN Peace-building Fund through the UNDP, the Women’s Forum Sierra Leone in ensuring Sierra Leone maintains permanent peace in post-elections and embarks on community radio discussion programmes to sensitise people, particularly women not to associate themselves in violence or acts that would undermine the peace of the nation.
The sensitisation programmes were done at SLBC TV and radio, Radio Democracy FM 98.1 and Star Television respectively. The panel was made up of stakeholders representing their different institutions including CSOs, Market Women and religious representatives from the Inter Religious Council of Sierra Leone, both Christians and Muslims.
All the stakeholders emphasised on the roles they played and are still playing in maintaining meaningful and lasting peace in their different spaces as it was reiterated that the coalition of CSOs was setup to continue preaching and supporting meaningful and lasting peace in the country.
