Citizens of this country (Sierra Leone) have expressed profound appreciation on the way and manner Parliament of Sierra Leone is handling the issue of the toll gate prise increment. Citizens of Sierra Leone are highly depending on Members of Parliament (MPs) for the cancellation of the toll gate agreement. The agreement has already tabled in parliament to look and review of the toll fees charge, which will be good if its came out in favour of citizens.

Mustapha Koroma, a trader said: “As we all know the economic hardship of the country is really hard… Talk about the high increment of the toll gate prises will significantly put things from the frying pan into the fire…the cost food will definitely increase if the toll gate fees increased. We the people of this country, we say kudos to parliament for this first move…”

Citizens have also commanded the speaker of the house, Hon. Dr. Chernor Abass Bundu to put on hold the toll gate agreement until parliament has diligently investigate the various concerns and proposal.

Salmatu Kamara (a teacher) expressed: “It’s a good move made by Dr. Abass Bundu to make such decision and one of the two issues discovered during the consultative meeting are lack of verification of traffic data by Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority and the need to critically look at the various concerns.” Citizens are looking forward to all the MPs to continue to make the right decision on the issue of the toll gate.
