In a bid to develop young football talents and strengthen his popularity in the football arena in the country, the Chairman of Bo Rangers football club, Babadi Kamara, has kicked start his Inter Community Ramadan Trophy at the Kingtom Field.
The Tournament kicked start on Sunday 24 March 2024 and the competition featured 12 teams from various communities that were generously sponsored by Babadi Kamara. The opening match showcased a thrilling showdown between the host team, Kingtom, and Kroo Bay Community, with Kingtom emerging victorious with a 2-0 victory in a mouth-watering encounter.
During the opening ceremony of the tournament, Babadi Kamara was hailed and commended for his remarkable contribution towards such a commendable initiative, showcasing his unwavering support for community sports development in the country.
He is an household name when it comes to football activities in Sierra Leone, and in this year’s Ramanda competition Babadi had placed various star prizes for teams in the competition. The first place winner will take home a grand prize of 25,000Nle, a new set of jerseys, and three footballs.
The second placed team will walk away with 15,000Nle, new set of jerseys, and three footballs, while the third placed team will be awarded 10,000Nle.
The atmosphere at the Kingtom Field was electrifying all these days as the competition is ongoing. Chairman Babadi Kamara expressed his gratitude to all the teams for their participation and wished them the best of luck in the upcoming matches.
He emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and unity in bringing communities together, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. As the competition progresses, the teams will demonstrate their abilities and tenacity in hopes of winning the title of champions.
