James Momodu Sesay the prosecution lawyer led Emmanuel Banya of the Gateway Evangelistic Ministry Church which was vandalized by the accused persons, to complete his testimony, present and tender the video evidences in memory sticks as promised in his last hearing.
The eighth accused persons including Alpha Bangura, Parteh Jalloh, Dauda Jalloh, Santigie Koroma, Abdul Bangura on Wednesday 3rd April 2024 are in court before Magistrate Sahr Kekura to answer to six count charges including; conspiracy, arson and sacrilege among others.
Police alleged that on September 24, 2023, at the Gateway Evangelistic Ministry Church at Quarry, Kissy in Freetown, the accused persons conspired together and with other persons unknown to break in and enter into the said Church and stole two Lenovo Laptop computers, one IPhone 13 pro-max, one ultra-
Samsung mobile phone, ten yards carpet and attempted to set fire on the Gate way Evangelistic Ministry Church.
In his testimony in court on Tuesday April 3, 2024, Banya resumed and told the court that he had placed the video recordings he did about the theft and vandalism into a flash drive as promised. He produced and tendered it to be added as evidence in the matter.
And the video content shows how the accused persons vandalized and set the church part ablaze and throwing missiles at the church. And the witness said that he made statements at the CID headquarters.
Meanwhile defence sought for a short date for him to cross examined the witness which was granted by the Magistrate, and bails continues for the eight accused persons. The matter has been adjourned to the 16th April 2024 for further hearings.
