Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, along with Outgoing National Sports Authority boss, Dr. Kenneth Brima, and senior officials from the Ministry and NSA, on Tuesday 9th April 2024 visited the Approved School Football Field in Freetown, to inspect the progress of the new artificial turf project, which commenced a few months ago.
Upon arrival, they were warmly received by SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima and his team. President Thomas Daddy Brima welcomed the Minister and her delegation, expressing gratitude for their visit.
In a special interview after the visit regarding the construction of the artificial turf, Madam Minister expressed her satisfaction, stating, “I am delighted to be here with officials from the Ministry, the Outgoing NSA Boss, Dr. Kenneth Brima, and his Executives. I am pleased with the development at the Approved School and other areas of the country where artificial turfs are being constructed,” Madam Minister said.
She added: “Football is of utmost importance globally, and I commend the efforts of associations in creating quality facilities and venues. I am impressed with the progress and eager to collaborate with SLFA authorities. Our President, H.E Julius Maada Bio, expects such dedication, and I encourage them to maintain this momentum.”
She assured SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima and his team of updating H.E JMB about the progress of the artificial turf constructions and expressed her intention to visit other venues where similar projects are underway.
Madam Minister concluded by thanking SLFA for their hospitality and blessings, expressing hope for continued success.
