In an ambitious move to revolutionize football infrastructure in Sierra Leone, the construction of a mega project at the SLFA Academy Field has commenced under the visionary leadership of President Thomas Daddy Brima and his Executive Committee. This project aims to enhance the footballing landscape by providing state-of-the-art facilities that will benefit players, officials, and fans alike.
The centre piece of this project is a 1,000-seater accommodation that will provide comfortable lodging for fans. Additionally, two sets of modern dressing rooms to accommodate four different teams simultaneously will be constructed to ensure that players have the best facilities to prepare for matches. A medical centre will also be built to cater to the health needs of players, with a focus on injury prevention and treatment.
To uphold the integrity of the sport, an anti-doping centre will be established to ensure fair play and compliance with anti-doping regulations. Furthermore, a gym will be constructed to help players maintain peak physical fitness, enhancing their performance on the pitch.
The project will also include offices for match officials, providing them with a conducive environment to carry out their duties efficiently. This move is aimed at improving the overall standard of officiating in football matches across the country.
The construction of these facilities is set to complement the four newly constructed artificial turf pitches across the country including SLFA Academy, Approved School Field, Port Loko Field, and Bo Coronation Field, creating a network of modern footballing infrastructure that will benefit the development of football at all levels. The SLFA Academy Field project is a testament to the commitment of President Thomas Daddy Brima and his Executive Committee to elevate the standard of football in Sierra Leone and propel the country towards greater footballing success.
