The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sierra Leone has called for the collective efforts of Sierra Leoneans to join government in the fight against kush.
The call among other issues was made by the Chinese diplomatic during an anti-kush campaign meeting held on 27 April 2024, at the Boston Community Centre, Kisst East of Freetown.
Hosted by Chinese Embassy, Sierra Leone-China Foundation, the event formed part of the country’s 63 Independence anniversary celebration, during which the Chinese Embassy Diplomatic Mission reached out to communities with anti-drug campaign messages.
In what appears look like the mission has already identified targeted communities to engage with anti-drug/kush campaign messages, the Boston Community Centre meeting underscored and addressed critical remedies aimed at eradicating the trending social problems posed by the spread and high intakes of kush within communities across the country.
Delivering at keynote address, at the gathering, Minister-Counselor, Zhang Dianbin observed that the fight against kush requires the collective efforts of every citizen.
He encouraged every community and every sect of society to join the fight against kush. Minister-Counselor, Chinese Embassy-Sierra Leone, Zhang Dianbin, registered his embassy’s willingness towards taking a strategic part in the fight against kush.
The Chinese diplomat described the intake of synthetic drug and harmful substance abuse as global crisis. ‘As a true friend of Sierra Leone, let us stand together in our resolve to overcome this epidemic and build a brighter, drug-free future for generations to come’, he said.
