According to sources close to members of the Tripartite Committee, Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara won the June 24, 2023 presidential race and is the expected next president of Sierra Leone.

The sources made this disclosure based on a deliberation they said that took place among Tripartite Committee members concerning why the electoral commissioner for Sierra Leone is still so adamant that he will not release the demanded raw voting data per polling station.

The men informed FORUM that members of the committee are positive that had Bio won the elections in a free, fair and credible manner then there would have been no reason for the chief electoral commissioner not to release the demanded data.

Our sources relayed that the committee members concluded that because the ECSL and the CEC might have tampered with the tallying of the June 24, 2023 presidential elections result to give the incumbent candidate, Julius Maada Bio, an unfair advantage, to protect himself and other members of the ECSL who might have been complicit in such a criminal action against the people of Sierra Leone from legal action, and to also protect and ensure that his boss the president continues to stay in the office of the president, the CEC continues to deny the public and the investigators of the Tripartite Committee access to the disaggregated voting record on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Meanwhile, the nation and people of Sierra Leone continue to wait on the parties involved in this impasse, the ruling party government and the main opposition, and our international development partners to impress it on the chief electoral commissioner to submit the demanded data in the interest of the people of Sierra Leone. Since Konneh announced the now discredited presidential elections result the nation has gone through seismic shocks to its economy, peace and national development.

The prices of goods and services continue to rise at astronomical levels when compared to before 2018 when the Bio led regime took office.

The country has also experienced an attempted coup that those close to the coup plotters say resulted from what they called a stage managed electoral coup by the incumbent party and the elections management bodies against the people and state of Sierra Leone. The case of the attempted coup is still on-going in the court of law.

Speaking last Friday 28 June 2024 to members of the APC executive they said they believe that Dr Samura Kamara is the rightful winner of the June 24 elections. They said this is the reason they support him wholeheartedly to claim what is rightfully his according to the people’s vote.

The APC executive members say Dr Samura Kamara must ensure that this opportunity does not pass him by for the second time, because if he allows the incumbent president to continue in power until 2028, he may not be able to make another attempt to become the APC flagbearer according to the party’s constitution.

Meanwhile, the people of Sierra Leone have been assured that when access is granted to the Tripartite Committee to view the real voting record of the June 24, 2023 presidential election and so make their recommendations, the recommendations will be actionable and implemented. They are assured that should there be forceful denial from the regime to prevent and so make way for the real winner of the presidential election to assume power, ECOMOG is here to ensure full compliance, even by force of arms.

This assurance was given based on regional developments as they relate to former presidents of Ivory Coast and The Gambia, Koudou Laurent Gbagbo and Yahyah Jammeh respectively, who had to be forcefully removed from office after refusing to relinquish power after failing to win their respective peoples’ mandates.
