Twenty year old Abdul Salam Abdul Razak, a student on Friday 5 July 2024, appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Pademba Road Court No.1 for alleged murder.
The accused is before the court for using a pistol that belongs to the Sierra Leone Police and killed.
The accused is charged on eight counts ranging from shouting with intent to kill contrary to law, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding with intent to murder, wounding, assault occasioning to actual bodily harm, possession of small arms without license, unlawful concealment of arms and having in control of small arm without license
According to the particulars of offence on count 1, the accused Abdul Salam Abdul Razak on Wednesday 24 April 2024 at Grafton Junior Secondary School, Grafton in the Western Rural district, shot Ibrahim Kangbai with intent to murder the victim.
Count two stated that on the same date and place the accused caused grievous bodily harm to the said complainant with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
Count three and four further stated that on the same date and place the accused person wounded the complainant with intent to murder him.
Count four stated that on the same date and place the accused maliciously wounded Ibrahim Kangbai
On count five the same date and place the accused assaulted Ibrahim Kangbai in a manner thereby occasioning to him actual bodily harm.
Count six further stated that on the same date and place the accused was found in possession of one short gun and four rounds of ammunition without a license.
Count seven, on the same date and place the accused did concealed fire arms one short gun and four rounds of ammunition without lawful authority.
Count eight further stated that on the same date and place the accused was found in control of one short gun and four rounds of ammunition without lawful authority.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person no plea taken.
The Prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Ibrahim S. Mansaray sought for a short adjournment date for him to get proper conference with his witness.
Meanwhile Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The matter was adjourned to Monday 15 July 2024 for further hearing.
