The First Division Playoffs Zone ‘A’ Local Organizing Committee has ruled in favor of Kamboi Eagles against Imperri Foundation. Kamboi Eagles challenged the legibility of one of Imperri Foundation’s player in the name of Charles Murana after the player in question was fielded during the National Playoffs group match opposing both sides played at the Approved School field on August 22, 2024. In their protest Kamboi Eagles challenged that Murana was ineligible to have been fielded.
According to the ruling, Charles Murana was improperly transferred from A.I Kallon FC to Imperri Foundation, bypassing his parent club, Freetown Football Club.
As a result, Kamboi Eagles have been awarded 3 points and 3 goals, and with this recent ruling the Eagles from Kenema have now edged the initial group leaders Abacha City at the top of Zone A’.
Kamboi Eagles will now face second place Masoya FC instead of Zone B’ group winners Star Sport Academy in the National Premier League First Division semifinals as initially stated for tomorrow at the Wusum field in Makeni at 2:30PM.
With the latest ruling, Kamboi Eagles are only the first side to end this year’s National playoffs group phase with 12 points the highest point scored by any team as group winner from both two groups.
