Lamin Bangura, a 20-year-old cleaner at Tagrin Quarry- Lungi was again arraigned before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 Tuesday, 28th January 2025 on one count charge of Larceny in Dwelling House contrary to Section 13 (a) of the Larceny Act- 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused, on Friday 18th October 2024 at No 33 Benjamin Lane- Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, entered the dwelling house of Pawel Andizej Kusmierzak, a Polish National of the above address, and stole there the sum of fifteen thousand United States dollars ($15,000), equivalent to three Hundred and Sixty Thousand New Leones (360,000); and two and half kilogram of gold valued at one Hundred and eight seven thousand United States dollars ($187,000)- equivalent to four million, four hundred and eighty eight New Leones ( Nle 4,488,000.00)- all to the total value of four million, eight hundred and forty eight thousand New Leones (4,848,000)- property of the said Pawel Andizej Kusmierzak.
When the charge was read and put to the accused person, no plea was taken.
The state prosecutor- 18235 Thoronka, sought for a short adjournment date to have a proper interrogation with his witnesses.
Magistrate Bangura granted the accused bail in the sum NLe 1,000,000 with two sureties who must be responsible residents.
The case has been adjourned to the 13th February 2025 for the continuation of his trial.
