In a bold and unwavering address that has sent ripples throughout Sierra Leone’s political landscape, the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the All People’s Congress (APC), Mohamed Pope Kamara, has issued a clarion call to party members, stakeholders, and all patriotic citizens: the APC is marching toward 2028 with a singular, uncompromising objective—reclaiming State House.
Speaking with a tone of urgency and resolve, Pope Kamara declared that the APC has learnt vital lessons from the June 2023 general elections, which he described as marred by electoral injustice and manipulation. He stated in no uncertain terms that “dialogue is not an option anymore,” signaling a new, more assertive posture for the country’s main opposition party.
“This time, we are not negotiating our victory. We are not entertaining distractions. The APC has no Plan B—our only plan is victory,” he proclaimed.
Pope Kamara’s message, delivered during a recent party engagement, reflects the deep frustrations felt across the APC base following the 2023 elections. He asserted that what happened then has awakened a new spirit of unity, focus, and resistance within the party, and vowed that never again would the people’s will be subverted without consequence.
He emphasized that the APC’s mission transcends political ambition—it is now a national responsibility. “Our country is bleeding, our people are suffering,” Kamara said passionately. “This is no longer just about party politics. This is about rescuing Sierra Leone from the grip of economic despair, social injustice, and governance collapse under the current SLPP administration.”
According to Kamara, the APC stands as the only political institution with the experience, structure, and commitment to lead Sierra Leone into a brighter future. He cited the party’s track record in development, national cohesion, and economic reform, promising that under an APC government, dignity and hope will be restored to every Sierra Leonean.
Addressing party members and sympathizers both at home and in the diaspora, Pope Kamara called for resilience, unity, and unwavering loyalty to the party’s cause. He appealed for calm and patience but urged supporters to remain ever vigilant and ready to mobilize when called upon.
“The struggle is not in vain,” he assured. “2028 is ours—not as a dream, but as a duty. We owe it to the next generation to fight with all we have for a Sierra Leone that works for all.”
His remarks have been widely welcomed by party faithful, who view Kamara’s statement as a needed rallying cry for a party that is preparing to contest what could be one of the most pivotal elections in the country’s history.
Analysts believe that such strong rhetoric marks a turning point for the APC, which appears more unified and determined following a period of internal restructuring and strategic recalibration. With the party’s leadership increasingly taking bold stands, it is clear that the road to 2028 will be fiercely contested.
For Mohamed Pope Kamara and the APC, the message is loud and clear: Sierra Leone deserves better—and come 2028, the red revolution intends to deliver just that.
