In a landmark move for Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry, a renowned international businessman, Fassallay Tarawally, is set to launch a new state-of-the-art entertainment complex in Freetown, signalling a major investment in the country’s cultural and economic future.
The new complex, located along the scenic Bundus Drive on Lumley Beach Road mirrors the success of Tarawally’s first establishment in Bo, aptly named Chapter 1. The Freetown branch is poised to become a central hub for entertainment, music, nightlife, and youth employment.
The event scheduled for a grand opening on Friday, June 27, 2025, the Chapter 1 Complex in Freetown promises to deliver a fresh and dynamic experience for music lovers, nightlife enthusiasts, and tourists alike. The ultra-modern facility is designed to accommodate a wide range of events, including concerts, parties, art showcases, and more.
On Saturday, June 28, the spotlight will shift to the highly anticipated grand opening of the Chapter 1 Club — the entertainment jewel of the new complex. The event is expected to be a star-studded affair, featuring top DJs, live performances, and appearances from leading figures in Sierra Leone’s and Africa’s music industry. The Chapter 1 Club aims to raise the bar in nightlife entertainment with top-tier sound systems, exclusive VIP lounges, and a stunning beachfront ambiance.
Also, the celebrations will continue on Sunday, June 29, with the highly publicized “All Chapter 1 White Party.” This themed event is set to bring together celebrities, influencers, and key players from the entertainment sector across Africa. Dressed in all-white attire, guests will experience an elegant evening of music, fashion, and entertainment, reflecting Tarawally’s vision of uniting African talents under one cultural banner.
The white party is expected to be a showcase of not only Sierra Leonean talent but also Pan-African solidarity in the arts, with performances from both local and international stars.
Furthermore, Fassallay Tarawally has long been a champion of youth empowerment and cultural revitalization in Sierra Leone. Through his ventures, he has created numerous job opportunities for young people, contributing to both the creative economy and national development.
“Chapter 1 is more than just an entertainment centre; it’s a symbol of hope, a platform for youth, and a celebration of Sierra Leonean culture,” said Tarawally in a statement ahead of the launch. “With this expansion to Freetown, we are setting a new standard and opening doors for international collaborations and investments in the creative space.”
His work in Bo has already demonstrated the positive impact of such establishments, with the Bo Chapter 1 Complex playing a pivotal role in boosting the local economy, providing jobs, and nurturing local artists. Now, with the new facility in Freetown, Tarawally is replicating that success on an even larger scale.
As Sierra Leone continues to carve out a place in the global entertainment landscape, initiatives like Chapter 1 are essential for branding the nation as a cultural destination. With Tarawally’s vision, Chapter 1 is not just a business — it’s a cultural movement that bridges tradition and innovation, local talent and global appeal.
The launch of Chapter 1 in Freetown is a milestone moment for the country’s entertainment industry and a testament to what strategic investment and passionate leadership can achieve.
With three days of celebrations lined up, all eyes will be on Freetown this June as it becomes the epicentre of African entertainment — thanks to one man’s dream of turning Sierra Leone into a beacon of culture and creativity.
