Monaco, June,2025:- As part of ongoing efforts to bridge the financing gap in the Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) 2024–2030, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Kenyeh Barlay, held high-level discussions with key members of Monaco’s business community during a recent visit to Monaco on 25th June 2025.
The Minister met with Mr. Guillaume Rose, Managing Director of the Monaco Economic Board (MEB), and Mr. Patrick Lecoy, Secretary General of the Club des Entrepreneurs Monégasques en Afrique (CEMA)—a strategic business network connecting Monegasque companies with opportunities across Africa.
During the meeting, Mr. Lecoy expressed strong interest in fostering future business partnerships between Monaco-based investors and Sierra Leone. Potential areas of collaboration identified include agriculture, high-end tourism, oil and gas, telecommunications, IT and digitalization—sectors that align with the Government of Sierra Leone’s BIG FIVE Game-Changing Agenda and its key enablers.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to deepen engagements through an initial webinar involving CEMA members, relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and representatives of both the national and international private sector. The webinar will set the stage for a follow-up investment mission to Sierra Leone by CEMA members, anticipated in early 2026.
This initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Ministry to attract diversified private investments into Sierra Leone’s priority sectors and accelerate delivery of the national development plan.
