Preparations are underway for an important engagement in the Netherlands as part of efforts to support Dr Ibrahim Bangura’s outreach across mainland Europe. European Lead Coordinator Umaru Jah, the author of this report, will travel to Nijmegen, Holland, on Friday, August 8 to meet with APC members and other well-meaning Sierra Leoneans in the community.
He will be accompanied by the Deputy Chairperson of Team Dr Ibrahim Bangura Germany, Ishmael Musa Bangura. The visit is intended to build on recent online engagements and begin laying the foundation for structured political involvement within the Sierra Leonean community in the Netherlands.
The focus will be on strategic dialogue, mobilization planning, and exploring how local supporters can take on a more active role in the diaspora campaign. Over the past several months, Jah has engaged various individuals and groups through virtual discussions and outreach sessions.
The visit is expected to open the door for stronger collaboration and help identify potential organizers as the campaign broadens its reach. It marks a key step in connecting with new constituencies and enhancing coordination across the European network.
Similar engagements have already taken place in Frankfurt and Paris, where the campaign made significant progress in mobilizing support and building momentum.
With further visits planned for Belgium and Italy, the European team remains focused on preparedness, clear messaging, and consistent outreach. The Nijmegen engagement is expected to contribute meaningfully to these efforts.
