Vice President of Sierra Leone Medical and Dental Association Commends Program as a Lifelong Investment in a Healthy Workforce
Africell has officially launched its ‘Wel Body’ Initiative, a comprehensive health awareness and wellness program designed to promote healthy living among its employees.
The event, which marked Africell Health Awareness Day 2025, featured free medical screenings for HIV, Hepatitis, Blood Pressure, and Blood Sugar for all staff members.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Samba Jalloh, Vice President of the Sierra Leone Medical and Dental Association, commended Africell for what he described as a lifelong investment in the health and wellbeing of its workforce.
“This initiative is a remarkable step towards building a healthier and more productive workforce,” Dr. Jalloh stated. “Regular health check-ups and awareness are vital in preventing chronic diseases and promoting long-term wellness.”
Also speaking, Africell’s Talent Development Director, Dr Fatmata Taqi, emphasized that the health awareness program reflects Management’s commitment to the holistic wellbeing of its employees.
“At Africell, we believe that a healthy team is a productive team,” Dr Taqi said. “The ‘Wel Body’ initiative is part of our ongoing effort to ensure that our staff have access to essential health services and information.”
The Africell Health Awareness Day featured health education sessions, wellness talks, and on-site testing, further underscoring Africell’s commitment to fostering a culture of care and wellness within the workplace.
