The Leone Rock Premier League Board (LRPLB) has announced that the official fixture draw for the 2025/2026 Sierra Leone Premier League season will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown.
In a historic move for Sierra Leonean football, the LRPLB revealed that this year’s draw will be conducted live through the SLFA Connect platform, a digital innovation designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in football administration. This marks the first time in the league’s history that fixtures will be determined using a fully digital process.
According to the Board, the transition to a digital draw reflects the ongoing modernization efforts of the SLFA under the leadership of its president, Babadi Kamara, who has prioritized technological advancement and institutional capacity-building as key pillars of his administration.
Officials from the LRPLB noted that the new system will allow stakeholders, clubs, and fans to follow the draw in real time, ensuring openness and reducing the likelihood of administrative errors. They emphasized that the digital platform will not only make the process faster but will also help strengthen public confidence in the fairness of league operations.
This development comes shortly after a series of capacity-building training sessions organized by the SLFA for both national and regional football administrators. The training aimed to equip staff with the technical skills needed to effectively use digital tools in managing football-related activities.
“The live digital fixture draw is a testament to how far we’ve come as a football nation in embracing technology,” an LRPLB spokesperson said. “It represents the professionalism and transparency we are working hard to build within Sierra Leonean football.”
All 18 clubs competing in the 2025/2026 Leone Rock Premier League are expected to send official representatives to witness the event. The LRPLB also confirmed that members of the press have been invited to provide coverage, ensuring that fans across the country can stay informed and engaged.
The Board expressed optimism that the upcoming season will be one of the most competitive, entertaining, and well-organized campaigns in the history of the country’s top-tier football. They highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration among all stakeholders in sustaining the momentum of growth within the sport.
Under the guidance of President Babadi Kamara, the SLFA has embarked on a series of digital reforms aimed at improving data management, registration processes, and communication between the association, clubs, and regional bodies. The introduction of the SLFA Connect platform is viewed as a major milestone in these reform efforts.
As anticipation builds ahead of the new season, football fans across Sierra Leone are eager to see which clubs will face off on opening day and how the fixtures will shape the competition.
The LRPLB concluded by reaffirming its commitment to integrity, transparency, and innovation in football management, pledging to make the 2025/2026 Leone Rock Premier League season a memorable one for fans, players, and all stakeholders.
