In a chat with Entertainment News, the Vice President of the Kabala Secondary School (KSS), “the School of the North, the School of Our Hearts,” Alumni Association, Canada, Mr. Biah F. Tarawalie has passionately appealed to all alumni and members of the public to support the forthcoming 65th anniversary of the school on 21st November this year in Kabala, Northern Sierra Leone as well as the dinner and dance to be organized by the North American Branch on 8th November 2025 at the EKKONE CONFERENCE CENTER, 7953 ANNAPOLIS ROAD, LANHAM, MD 20706 from 8pm-3am.
“Your support towards this project is vital to our mission to create the difference and this cannot be achieved without your support that will serve as an incentive to others to come onboard to support our dear school and rekindle fond memories of KSS,” he appealed.
Mr. Biah F. Tarawalie further assured that the event would be interactive, that guests would showcase their talents, knowledge and other skills with enthusiasm through fun and entertainment reiterating that the event would be rewarding, engaging and entertaining.
The renovation project, he reiterated, is to promote local ownership of development initiatives and community engagement underlining that the initiate would bring about positive change and development to KSS and the entire district.
He also assured that the alumni remains unwavering in its commitment to quality education and the power of ideas and an example of a learning institution not only in the north but the entire country aimed at supporting government’s human capital development, the greatest asset of any country.
The Vice President of the Kabala Secondary School (KSS), Alumni Association in Canada underscored that the support of alumni and well-wishers towards the event cannot be overstated to the success of the renovation of the school buildings, revealed that entrance fee is $100 regular and $150 single patron reiterating that funds raised from the event would go towards the renovation of school and appealed to all that their attendance, as donors or otherwise, would make a real difference to the project.
According to Mr. Biah F. The Vice President of the Kabala Secondary School Alumni Association in Canada further disclosed that the school is in a deplorable condition, that the fund-raising event is a worthy cause geared towards a major renovation of the school, kindly appealed to all alumni to contribute $120 as annual dues to help kick-start the project asserting that this is just the beginning and assured that with their support they would be able to launch additional initiatives to restore the school that shaped their lives to its past glory.
“Alumni should not forget the role their Alma Mater played in making them who they are today as productive and successful citizens in society as they create impact in various fields at home and abroad. Our school was there for us when we needed her most. Now, she needs us. Pease, let’s not abandon her. Our dear school gave us the foundation to become better people and this is our time to give back,” Mr. Biah F. Tarawalie fervently appealed.
Concluding, he expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family of the principal of KSS, Mr. Joseph Mansaray who died on 17th October 2025 adding that the late man would be greatly remembered for his kindness, dedication and the love he shared with all those around him.
He informed that a vigil (wake keeping) will be held on Thursday 30th October 2025 followed by the funeral and burial on Friday 31st October 2025 at the Kurraykoma Cemetery.
He encouraged those in Sierra Leone to visit the family residence at Gbawuria, Kabala to offer their condolences and support during this difficult time and also prayers for his soul to rest in perfect peace.
