In a rare moment of acknowledgment for corporate responsibility, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Transparency and Accountability, Hon. Maada Labbie of Bo District, has commended QCell Sierra Leone for its commitment to providing affordable and quality telecommunications services to the people of Sierra Leone.
Hon. Labbie made this statement during a joint parliamentary committee session comprising the Committees on transparency and Communication. The session was convened to engage Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) over the recent sharp increase in tariffs, which has sparked widespread public concern.
According to Hon. Labbie, while other network operators have continued to increase their tariffs, QCell has remained consistent and compliant, keeping its rates affordable and within reach of ordinary citizens.
“QCell has been one of the most compliant and people-centered operators since it started operations in Sierra Leone, they have consistently maintained affordable tariffs for data, Voice and SMS, helping to ease the burden on students, workers, traders, and other citizens who depend on data and communication services for their daily activities. In this digital age, where telecom access is considered a basic right, QCell has indeed proven its commitment to the people of this country,” he stated.
