Residents and businesses in Bo are being advised of a temporary power outage that will affect the area from tonight until tomorrow morning. The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) announced that the disruption is caused by an earth fault along the Bo-Kenema highway, specifically between Jembeh and Bandama.

In an official statement, EDSA said its technical team is working diligently to identify the source of the fault and restore electricity supply as quickly as possible. “Our engineers are on-site and making every effort to resolve the issue. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the patience and understanding of our valued customers,” the statement read.

The power outage is expected to affect both residential and commercial users along the affected route. Businesses are being encouraged to make alternative arrangements to minimize disruptions to operations, while residents are advised to take necessary precautions for the duration of the outage.

EDSA explained that earth faults occur when electrical current comes into unintended contact with the ground, often due to damaged equipment, fallen power lines, or extreme weather conditions. Such faults can pose safety risks and may require careful handling to ensure both personnel and public safety.

The utility company reassured the public that all safety measures are being observed while the team works to restore normal electricity supply. EDSA also emphasized that it is committed to maintaining reliable service and will provide updates as progress is made in fixing the fault.

Local authorities and community leaders have expressed understanding and encouraged residents to remain calm while the repair work is underway. They commended EDSA’s quick response and proactive communication regarding the outage.

Once the fault is resolved, power supply along the Bo-Kenema highway is expected to return to normal, allowing businesses and households to resume regular activities. EDSA has urged customers to report any related issues or emergencies to their customer service centers for immediate attention.

This incident underscores the importance of ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the electricity infrastructure to prevent unexpected disruptions. It also highlights the utility’s commitment to safety, transparency, and timely communication with the public during service interruptions.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official EDSA announcements and to plan accordingly until the electricity supply is fully restored.
