On Saturday, November 15, a massive crowd of APC supporters filled Bassa Town in the Waterloo area as Dr. Ibrahim Bangura delivered a commanding campaign message that underscored his rising influence within the party. Supporters from across the Western Rural Area, including the district executive, transformed the event into a major demonstration of political momentum behind his movement.
Dr. Bangura used the platform to confront the country’s persistent social and economic pressures. He highlighted the lingering impact of conflict, the deepening hardship faced by citizens, and the growing demand for leadership capable of addressing these challenges with seriousness and consistency. His message urged the nation to face current conditions with clarity and to insist on effective governance.
He called for stronger alignment within the APC and pressed for better coordination across party structures as preparations intensify for the next national contest. His remarks drew firm approval from supporters seeking a more organised and assertive political front.
Dr. Bangura outlined key public concerns that continue to dominate national debate, including healthcare, electricity, food security, community safety, and access to education. He stated that these issues define the daily experience of ordinary families and require sustained effort from those in authority.
Youth issues held a central place in his address. He raised concerns over the growing influence of kush and the sense of uncertainty among young people. He called for a stronger national response and encouraged the creation of broader opportunities that allow youth to take a meaningful role in shaping the country’s direction.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and expressed confidence that the party is positioned for a strong challenge in 2028. He acknowledged former President Ernest Bai Koroma’s contributions and commended the party’s current leadership for maintaining organisational stability through difficult periods.
Dr. Bangura confirmed ongoing discussions with district executives on targeted development initiatives for the Western Rural Area. He assured supporters that his engagements will produce concrete outcomes. The scale of the gathering and the intensity of the crowd’s response pointed to a significant shift in political energy within the APC.
The event in Bassa Town positioned Dr. Bangura as one of the most consequential voices shaping the party’s direction as the country moves closer to the next electoral cycle.
